I am always
interested in adding new Musketeer and USHL jerseys to my collection, especially
any different

If you can offer any additional information regarding any of the jerseys, your input will always welcome!!!

he would soon open the Penalty Box bar. Located in the historic KD Station, this
would become a hot spot within the hockey community.
Fans, coaches, hockey lovers & haters and even the players, made this spot one

Bogdan "Bubba" Podwysocki

Sioux City Musketeers (USHL)
1973-74 Rookie of the Year *
1974-75 Most Popular Player *
1975-76 USHL All Star Southern Division
These are the second style jersey worn by the Musketeers for two seasons. This
one was worn by fan favorite Bubba
Podwysocki.
Originally, these
had the traditional circular Tri-State crest. Upon arrival of
new Musketeer jerseys for the 76-77 season, these were handed
down to the Sioux City
High School team, where the front crest was removed and
replaced by the chain stitched "Sioux City" logo.
Both sets were altered so finding one of these
originals w/crest is gonna be a
toughie!!!
Made by General and is a size 44
Bubba joined the Musketeers for three seasons (73-76). In
the late 60's, he was considered a select Canadian player in the youth levels
and garnered lots of attention being pegged as some of the best young players
Quebec had to offer. Before he turned 18, he already has a
pair of seasons under his belt playing for the Montreal Junior Canadians;
playing 125 games and scoring 40 goals and 50 assists. At 18,
he joined the Ottawa 67's for the 72-73 season and played in 53
games scoring nine goals and 16 assists.
A new opportunity to get to the States arrived in the new expansion team
in Sioux City; only a year old-member of the well established
USHL Senior Professional League the Musketeers had made a respectable showing
their first season and were deemed a worthy organization.
Bubba's experience would pay-off, playing in 42 games he scored 20 goals, 23
assists and finished as a top five high scorer.
It was more of the same the next season (74-75), with
Bubba finishing as a top three scorer netting 33 goals and 31 assists. The 75-76
season
saw a slow down of his scoring production but he continued to bring
leadership and experience to the Musketeers. While individually he scored
17 goals and12 assists the Musketeers would mark this season as their
first major successful season capturing the Southern Division Championship
and falling a few goals short of winning the USHL championship.
Over his three season in Sioux City Bubba would claim
several awards, Rookie of the Year & Most Popular Players as well as a selection
to the
USHL All-Star Team. Always a fan favorites he will surely make the list of most
memorable Musketeers.
Sadly, Bubba passed away in 1998, he was only 44 years old.
1974-75 Steve Desloges / 1975-76 Kevin O'Rear
These are the second style jersey worn by the Musketeers for two seasons.
Probably worn first by Steve Desloges and the following season by

new Musketeer jerseys for the 76-77 season, these were
handed
down to the
Sioux City High School team,
where the front crest was removed and
replaced by the chain stitched "Sioux City" logo.
Both sets were altered so finding one of these originals
w/crest is gonna be a
toughie!!! Single color sewn-on numbers on back & sleeve.

This one was worn by team Captain Mitch Brandt. Prior to
joining the

selected
as team captain his last season. He
would later become one of the original coaches of the

a stop in Ames where he played for the Cyclones two additional seasons
affording him the chance to graduate and travel to China to

Rod Taylor played a pair of USHL seasons (83-85) for the Waterloo Blackhawks. His first
season stats are vague, but his
second
season there saw him post 54 goals, 29 assists for 83 total points in just 46
games played. Why trade away a top
scorer who collects nearly 2 points per game?!?! All that matters is they did!!!
The next season, Rod became a Musketeer and the 86-87 season was going to be one
for the
Musketeer and USHL record
books. By the time the season ended, he had
finished the season as the League's second highest
scorer with 105 points.
His 67 goals and 24 Power Play goals would both
become league records that still stand today. This was
all
accomplished in, what was then, a regular season length of 48 games. Rod would be
selected the USHL 1st Team
and also the Musketeers
Most Valuable Player.
After playing hockey at Ferris State University for four
seasons, it was on to the pros for Rod. Joining the East Coast
League, he
found a home in Norfolk, Virginia; eventually playing for the Hampton Roads Admirals
for ten seasons. Holding
on to
his scoring prowess and,
with the exception of his first season, he never was less that a top five team
scorer; during
the
93-94 season, he lead the team with 54 goals and 34 assists, twice he was the
Admirals second leading scorer.
He
scored over 30 goals per season for eight seasons.
Rod's name is all over the Admirals record book, topping the charts in games played, goals scored,
total
points and even in
total
penalty minutes. He is also the ECHL's top goal scorer and second in total
points.
He would play two more seasons for the Richmond Renegades
(ECHL), the first season he would lead the team in goals
